📖 About the Hijri Calendar
The Hijri (Islamic) calendar is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 months. It began with the migration (Hijrah) of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from Makkah to Madinah in 622 CE. Islamic months are either 29 or 30 days long, based on the sighting of the new crescent moon.
